Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Veronica was influenced by her sister, Julia, who had completed the licensed practical nurse program at the Technical-Vocational Institute of Albuquerque. Veronica took this first step on the ladder by becoming a certified LPN. Veronica continued her education and received her associate degree in nursing from the University of Albuquerque and bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix.
